Under the Federal Law, federal educational standards for preschool, primary and secondary general education provide the opportunity to receive tuition in the native languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation, as well as to study the official languages of the republics of the Russian Federation and the native languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation, including Russian as a native language.
The Federal Law provides for the study of the Russian language not only as a state language but also as a native language of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
According to the Federal Law, free choice of the language of tuition is exercised based on applications from the parents (legal representatives) of underage pupils.
