Ambassadors from eight countries took place in the ceremony for the presentation of letters of credential that was held in Alexander Hall in the Grand Kremlin Palace.

As he opened the ceremony, the President noted that economic growth, social stability and the development of democratic institutions has significantly increased Russia’s capabilities in the international arena. In connection with this, Russia is making a concerted effort to use this potential with a view to promoting progress in international relations, Vladimir Putin emphasised.

The Russian head of state congratulated ambassadors from Angola, Uruguay, Libya, Cote d’Ivoire, Oman, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Andorra on the commencement of their diplomatic posting to Russia and said that he wished that their work would result in new mutually advantageous projects and closer bilateral cooperation.

The head of state expressed his confidence that the new ambassadors’ efforts to develop mutually advantageous cooperation would meet with sincere support in Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko also participated in the meeting.
