Greetings to participants, organisers, and guests of the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum

Vladimir Putin sent greeting to the participants, organisers, and guests of the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The message reads, in part:

“I am pleased to welcome you to the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

As in previous years, the Forum will bring together leading politicians, representatives of the business community, academics and public figures to discuss the most pressing issues facing the Russian and global economies. The theme of this year’s meeting – “Pragmatic Dialogue: the Path to a Stable Future” – speaks directly to the defining challenges of our time. At a time when international relations and economic ties are plagued by unprecedented challenges, fragmentation and disruption of supply and technological chains, pragmatism and a dialogue based on equality are particularly relevant and needed.

I would like to emphasise that Russia has always been, and remains, an integral part of the global economy. We are open to constructive cooperation with all partners who share the principles of mutual respect and are ready to develop fair and long-term relations. Together with our colleagues, we remain actively engaged in multilateral institutions, including the United Nations and its specialised agencies, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the presidency of which Russia assumed on January 1, 2026.

I firmly believe that your invariably substantive and results-driven discussions will contribute to the development of new and effective solutions across all spheres of economic and social life, including energy, digital transformation, food security, human capital development, and strengthening financial and trade sovereignty. More broadly, they will serve the interests of our nations and peoples, while promoting international cooperation, security and stability”.
