The Government of the Russian Federation has been instructed to provide one-time financial assistance to the budgets of the Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions to finance support measures for citizens affected by fires on their territory in April-May 2023.
The Government has also been instructed to consider the deployment of the Avialesokhrana (Aerial Forest Protection Service) Central Aerial Forest Protection Base units in the Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions to strengthen forest protection from fires in the Ural Federal District and analyse the expediency of making amendments to legislation to provide for criminal liability for wilful arson of dry vegetation or forest stands, regardless of the damage incurred.
The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the State Duma, has been instructed to adopt, during the spring session of 2023, a federal law that would improve the mechanism of extended liability for manufacturers of goods and packaging.
The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief, has been instructed to consider amendments to legislation to clarify the requirements for establishing and maintaining fire lines along the borders of populated areas.
