Following the talks, Vladimir Putin and King Mohammed VI signed the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Russia and Morocco. The declaration reads that “all countries must unite their efforts under the aegis of the United Nations Organisation and the UN Security Council in order to eradicate terrorism.”
The Declaration proclaims the establishment of strategic partnership between Russia and Morocco “based on the principles of sovereign equality, a peaceful settlement of disputes, respect for human rights and freedoms, and a dialogue between civilisations and cultures.”
Russia and Morocco intend to actively promote the establishment of an “all-embracing, just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on the principles of the Madrid conference, the ‘land for peace’ principle and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.”
The declaration also underlines the intention of both Russia and Morocco to develop economic, trade and financial partnership and to give more attention to cultural and scientific cooperation.
A number of bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of the Russian President and the King of Morocco. For instance, the foreign ministers signed an agreement on visa-free trips for diplomats and businessmen.
