The message said, in part:
“Russia steadfastly supports the Moldovan leadership’s choice of a course aimed at strengthening statehood, civil and interethnic agreement and democratic reforms.
“It is gratifying to see that the historic relations of friendship between Russia and Moldova are now developing in the spirit of mutual understanding and multifaceted cooperation, and the strategic partnership between our states is becoming ever more dynamic and comprehensive.
“I believe our joint efforts will further promote cooperation between our countries in the interest of the two sister nations.”
