At the traditional meeting with members of Government, the President charged Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov with submitting the draft law “On special economic zones” to the State Duma immediately after its examination by the cabinet of ministers.
Minister of Trade and Economic Development German Gref informed Vladimir Putin that the draft law on technology parks had been agreed upon with all departments and was already being examined by the Government.
In his turn, Minister of Information Technology and Communications Leonid Reiman told the President that the draft law that was developed together with the Ministry of Trade and Economic development on special economic zones “had been developed quite well”.
At the same time, said Mr Reiman, this document does not fully take into account the special features of companies which sell and export information programs and services.
Mr Reiman discussed the special features of the IT business in detail and made a number of suggestions to be taken into account in future legislative work.
