“Thanks to the painstaking and dedicated work of local historians, biologists, conservation specialists, and rangers, as well as to the active involvement of staff and volunteers from the Amur Tiger Centre in educational and humanitarian projects, the Amur tiger population in the Far East continues to grow year by year.
This is a result of truly committed and consistent efforts to preserve the species’ habitat, increase the numbers of this beautiful feline called “the king of the taiga,” raise environmental awareness across our society, implement state programmes for environmental protection, and preserve the unique natural wealth of national reserves, as well as nurture a respectful and caring attitude towards Russia’s natural heritage among the younger generation.
It is vital to further promote this large-scale and much-needed work, drawing on cutting-edge domestic and international expertise and applying modern scientific, management, and methodological approaches.”
