On May 19–20, the President of Russia
made an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, timed to coincide
with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation.
The People’s Assembly House in Beijing hosted Russia-China talks, following
which the presidents signed a Joint Statement on Further Strengthening
Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation and Deepening Relations of Good-Neighbourliness,
Friendship and Cooperation.
The two leaders took part in a ceremony launching the Cross Years of Russia-China Cooperation in Education
(2026–2027) and visited a photo exhibition co-hosted by the TASS and Xinhua
news agencies.
Vladimir Putin also held a meeting with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang.
