State visit to Kazakhstan. Meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council
Talks between the President of Russia and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, were held in Astana. Following the talks, the two leaders made statements to the media and oversaw the signing of a package of documents, including the Joint Statement on the Seven Foundations of Friendship and Neighbourliness between the Peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan.
As part of the state visit, Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also took part in a ceremony marking the launch of construction of the Sirius Centre for Gifted Children in Astana and planted a tree on the Alley of Eternal Friendship between Russia and Kazakhstan, located in the city centre.
Later, the President of Russia addressed the plenary session of the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum, titled The EAEU in the Global Digital Race: Focusing on Artificial Intelligence, and, together with the heads of other delegations participating in the forum, visited the exhibition, Development of Artificial Intelligence in the EAEU.
The following day, the President of Russia took part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. A number of documents were signed following the meeting.
In addition, a separate bilateral meeting was held between the President of Russia and the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
Concluding his state visit to Kazakhstan, Vladimir Putin answered questions from Russian journalists.
