For mass heroism and courage, fortitude and bravery shown by Army personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President resolved to award the honorary Guards designation to the 4th Red Banner Army of Air Force and Air Defence. From now on, the unit shall be referred to as the 4th Guards Red Banner Army of Air Force and Air Defence.
