Under the Federal Law, individuals aged 14 and above must take the Oath of a Citizen of the Russian Federation when acquiring citizenship pursuant to an international treaty of the Russian Federation, or as a result of being granted citizenship or opting for it.
Furthermore, the Federal Law clarifies the circumstances when failure to take the Oath of a Citizen of the Russian Federation renders the decision to grant Russian citizenship void.
