In accordance with Federal Law On the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the President approved the appointment of 40 members of the new composition of the Civic Chamber under the presidential quota.
The members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation approved by this Executive Order, as well as the members representing regional civic chambers, are invited to proceed with the formation of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The Civic Chamber includes 168 members, with 40 selected under the presidential quota, 85 representing regional civic chambers and 43 representing nationwide public associations.
The Civic Chamber is vested by law with responsibility for ensuring the consideration of the needs and interests of citizens of the Russian Federation and the protection of their rights and freedoms, as well as the rights of public associations and other non-profit organisations, in drafting and implementing state policy.
The Civic Chamber exercises public oversight over the activities of federal and regional executive authorities and local governments and helps implement the government’s human rights policy at detention facilities.
