The message reads in part:
“I am delighted to state that the First CIS Games held at Russia’s initiative in 2021 were a success, gained universal support, and became an important event in the sports calendar of the CIS countries. The current Games have significantly expanded their geography and brought together thousands of participants, their coaches, mentors and supporters in Belarusian cities. In the coming days the athletes will have a wonderful opportunity to compete with strong opponents, display their strength of character, resolve and determination to fight to the end and win.
I am confident that the Second CIS Games will decisively demonstrate their constructive and consolidating potential, contribute to the expansion of international humanitarian cooperation, and strengthen person-to-person contacts. I have no doubt that they will also serve to promote sports and a healthy and active lifestyle, especially among young people.”
