Instructions to ministries and agencies following Crimea and Sevastopol’s entry into the Russian Federation

Vladimir Putin signed instructions for a number of federal ministries and agencies.

Instructions were sent to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev Medvedev Dmitry Medvedev DmitryDeputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and a number of heads of ministries and agencies, in particular, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu Shoigu Sergei Shoigu SergeiSecretary of the Russian Federation Security Council , Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev Kolokoltsev Vladimir Kolokoltsev VladimirInterior Minister of the Russian Federation , Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov Bortnikov Alexander Bortnikov AlexanderDirector of the Federal Security Service , Minister of Civil Defence, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief Vladimir Puchkov Puchkov Vladimir Puchkov Vladimir , Director of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring Yury Chikhanchin Chikhanchin Yury Chikhanchin YuryHead of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring , and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Lavrov Sergei Lavrov SergeiMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation .

Following the entry into force of the Federal Constitutional Law of March 21, 2014 On Admitting to the Russian Federation the Republic of Crimea and Establishing within the Russian Federation the New Constituent Entities of the Republic of Crimea and City of Federal Importance Sevastopol, the President approved a programme of organisational measures to set up executive government bodies and other agencies and branches in Crimea and Sevastopol by March 29, 2014. 

Mr Putin gave the instruction for local executive government bodies and other agencies and branches to be established in accordance with the approved programme.

A report on the instructions’ implementation will be presented in two weeks’ time, with follow-up reports monthly after that.
