Participants of the meeting considered the proposed concept and adopted a decision to continue the discussion and modification of the document with the help of Russian artistic unions and cultural associations.
The finalised concept will be brought up for public discussion with the participation of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian Popular Front and the Federal Assembly’s relevant committees.
The President issued instructions to develop the draft federal law On Culture following the meeting of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art on December 21, 2017. The bill will provide the legislative basis for the policies and principles enshrined in the Foundations of State Culture Policy, approved by the Presidential Executive Order of December 24, 2014.
The working group consists of representatives of culture and the arts, heads of leading cultural organisations and representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, the Government staff and federal executive bodies.
