Born in October 10, 1960 in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR.
1983 – Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Department of Management and Applied Mathematics.
1988–1990: Worked at the Institute for Energy Research of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
1990–1992: Senior Researcher at the Institute for Market Problems of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
1993–1995: Deputy Director of the Expert Institute of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
1995–2017: Scientific Editor, First Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Editor-in-Chief of the weekly analytical magazine Expert.
Since 2008: President of MediaSoyuz National Media Worker’s Organisation.
Since 2011: Member of the Supervisory Board – Chair of the Expert Council of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, Member of the Central Staff of the Russian Popular Front, Head of the Working Group on the Quality of Everyday Life; Member of United Russia Supreme Council, Co-coordinator of the party’s Liberal Platform.
Since 2012: Proxy of the candidate for President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
2014–2018: Presenter of TV programmes of Channel One; 2016–2018: Host of the Sunday TV news show Vremya.
Since 2017: Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Since October 21, 2019: Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
Married, with a daughter.
