The Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights met with regional head Dmitry Demeshin and chaired an expanded meeting with heads of agencies and institutions of the neglect and juvenile delinquency prevention system, as well as members of the Commission for the Affairs of Minors and Protection of Their Rights under the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory.
Additionally, the Children’s Rights Commissioner visited the Centre for Assistance to Children Left Without Parental Care and the Centre for Social Assistance to Families and Children, where she held a personal reception for citizens.
The Khabarovsk Territory is one of the fourteen regions participating in the Challenge project, which aims to shift the focus from placing children in institutions to strengthening family support. The nationwide inspection team has taken oversight of 84 individual cases, and since September, 34 children have been reunited with their families.
