The President of Russia’s greeting reads, in part:
”Since it is so representative, the international competition Five Stars: Intervision will occasion a great deal of interest from music fans from around the Commonwealth [of Independent States]. And thanks to its rich programme and authoritative jury composed of well-known masters of national music, this festival promises great discoveries and interesting creative encounters. Especially since these days will gather together long-standing friends and new stars of the musical hall of fame.
May this festival give young participants the opportunity to develop their skills and may the language of music, that is comprehensible to all, unite the hearts of the people of the vast Eurasian territory.

The Five Stars: Intervision international competition for young pop singers is taking place in Sochi.
The competition programme contains 11 participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine. The broadcast of contestants’ performances will be organized both in Russia and the near abroad.
The jury, which includes well-known artists, will choose the most professional among the participants. Next year the Five Stars: Intervision international competition for young pop singers will be held in the country whose representative receives the largest number of viewers’ votes.
