The Russian President told his Korean counterpart about the efforts Russia was making to help resolve the North Korean nuclear issue. Mr Kim Dae-jung said he appreciated Russia’s positive role in the process.
Mr Putin underlined the importance of furthering the Korean reconciliation process, and the significance of the latest round of the talks between the two countries at the ministerial level.
During their conversation, President Putin spoke highly of Kim Dae-jung’s personal contribution to the development of Russian-South Korean relations and the dialogue between North and South Korea. Both parties expressed certainty that the new Korean leadership would pursue this constructive policy further.
