The according decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin.
The decree “On the interdepartmental work group on organising the ceremony of moving the ashes of the widowed Empress Mariya Fyodorovna, the wife of Emperor Alexander II, from the Kingdom of Denmark for burial in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.”
1. To hold a burial ceremony for the widowed Empress Mariya Fyodorovna, the wife of Emperor Alexander II in the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg on 26 September 2006.
2. To ratify the accompanying staff of the interdepartmental work group for organising the ceremony of moving the ashes of the widowed Empress Mariya Fyodorovna, the wife of Emperor Alexander II, from the Kingdom of Denmark for burial in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
