Irina Kharina, a former Auschwitz inmate, and Ivan Martynushkin, one of the first Soviet soldiers to enter the concentration camp, flew with the President to Krakow. Mr Putin talked with the veterans during the flight and Mr Martynushkin related how he had taken part in liberating the concentration camp.
