At a joint press conference with the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso (left), Prime Minister of Great Britain Anthony Blair and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana (right) following the Russia-EU summit.

A wide range of questions of bilateral cooperation was the main focus of the participants in the Russia-European Union Summit in London. These questions include the prospects for a simplified visa regime for given categories of citizens, development of partnership in the energy sector, and the implementation of the provisions of the Road Map for the Four Common Spaces in economics, external and internal security, science, and education. Russian and European Union experts were charged with working on questions pertaining to the beginning of the Road Map's implementation.

Russia and the European Union agreed on the basic provisions of an agreement on simplifying readmission and the visa regime for certain categories of citizens.

The parties also noted their interest in further developing the energy dialogue and working on major infrastructure projects together.

The next Russia-EU summit will take place in spring 2006.
