The President instructed the participants in the meeting to shape a strategy for developing the Siberian Federal District with regard to all aspects of the region’s business activities. Special priority should be given to solving the problems of the fuel and energy complex, extractive industry, science, education and transport.
Mr Putin believes that a proper migration policy is of great importance. He emphasised the need to create a favourable environment for attracting highly knowledgeable specialists to Siberia.
After the meeting, the President held a news conference where he summed up the results of his trips to Novosibirsk and Brunei, and spoke about various aspects of the country’s political life.
