In his opening address, Mr Putin highlighted the positive influence of the Church on the development of Russian-Armenian relations.
He passed to the Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church best wishes from Alexii II, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
Karekin II thanked Mr Putin for the meeting and told him about preparations for the Armenian Independence Day.
