The Director of the Federal Border Guard Service briefed the President on the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border. Mr Totsky said that no influx of refugees was expected on that border or on Afghanistan’s border with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Mr Totsky also briefed the President on the situation on Russia’s border with Abkhazia. In order to reinforce the area, there are plans to station Defence Ministry and Internal Affairs Ministry forces on that section along with Border Guard Service troops.
