Mr Medvedev said in particular in his telegram:
“The date you are celebrating today is a good occasion to affirm once more the ties of friendship, respect and trust that traditionally bind the Russian and Greek peoples. Built on a solid spiritual and historic foundation, these ties constitute a sound base on which we can continue to build our strategic partnership. Dialogue between our countries is developing actively in all areas and we are carrying out with success big and mutually beneficial projects in trade and the economy, strengthening our cultural and humanitarian ties, and building up our cooperation on the international stage.
The Russia-Greece Friendship Society’s many years of productive work have played an important part in broadening the ties between our countries, enriching the bilateral agenda with new ideas and developing contacts between our citizens and public organizations. I am sure that the society, whose work has earned deserved and very broad public support in Russia and Greece, will continue contributing to the all-round development of constructive and fruitful cooperation between our countries”.
