The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“This ancient holiday of the White Moon goes back to the spiritual sources of Buddhism and reminds the faithful of the eternal values of good, mercy, and care for those around us, and cultivates a respectful attitude to the common moral and humanist ideals that all the world religions share. These values have always been an essential condition for interethnic and interfaith harmony in our society.
The Buddhist faithful in Russia today honour and preserve the centuries-old traditions of Sagaalgan, and in so doing help to preserve our country’s spiritual and cultural diversity.”
