The greeting reads, in part:
“The Council traditionally considers the most pressing issues in Russian life and exerts a positive influence on the development of civil society in our country. It is very gratifying that in recent years you have given special attention to young people’s education. Present-day challenges and large-scale modernisation tasks facing our society require constant vigilance concerning the spiritual and moral state of the younger generation, support for their creative potential and the promotion of healthy lifestyles and family values. The encounters between our youth and participants in this assembly, representatives from the world of culture, science and the church, will certainly be useful.
I am sure that you have arranged to have a wide-ranging and open discussion during your meeting, and that the proposals that come out of it will contribute to the consolidation and sustainable development of Russian society.”
The World Russian People's Council will be held in Moscow on May 22–23 and will be dedicated to Soul Ecology and Youth: Spiritual and Moral Causes of the Crisis and Ways to Overcome Them.
