Mr Medvedev stressed that the situation regarding non-proliferation is changing too slowly and that the current security system governing this field needs to be upgraded. It should be efficient and modern.
The President of Russia outlined the priorities of international cooperation in this field and expressed his hope that Russian-American efforts will be supported by all nuclear countries. Non-nuclear countries contribute by strictly performing their non-proliferation obligations, Mr Medvedev said.
