Stavropol Territory Governor Vladimir Vladimirov told the President about his work as the head of the territory in the past five years. He said that during his term in office, the GRP had almost doubled from 380 billion to 730 billion rubles. New productions have been created, and in 2018 the region became Russia’s leader in terms of greenhouse vegetable production. Today, the Stavropol Territory accounts for 17 percent of the greenhouse vegetable market.
The Governor also spoke about the further development of agriculture, the introduction of wind energy and the increase in the number of tourists visiting the Caucasian Mineral Waters.
As regards social issues, the region has fully fulfilled the May 2012 executive orders on salary levels for teachers and doctors; 13 healthcare facilities were opened last year, 54 sports facilities were built in the region in five years, and 70 houses of culture were renovated. In addition, 27 kindergartens were opened and 11 schools were built in the region.
Mr Vladimirov told the President about his intention to run in the Stavropol Territory Governor elections next September. The President wished him success, noting that the voters would have the final say during the election campaign and the election as such.
