Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev and Healthcare and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova reported to President Medvedev on the aftermath of the fire and measures taken. The ministers are currently in Perm in accordance with the President's instructions. The meeting took place via videoconference.
Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Grigory Rapota and Governor of Perm Region Oleg Chirkunov also participated in the conference.
According to the most recent data, a fire and the resulting stampede in a night club in Perm killed 103 people and injured over 130, many of them seriously.
In accordance with a presidential executive order, December 7, 2009 has been declared a day of mourning in Russia in connection with the tragic events in Perm.
