The message reads, in part:
“Children of Asia is an interesting and successful youth sports project uniting talented and passionate youngsters from various Russian regions and a number of Asian countries at its venues.
This year the prestigious competition is hosted by Kuzbass, which is rightfully renowned for its sports traditions, the beauty and power of Siberian nature and the warm hospitality of its residents.
I am confident that the Second Children of Asia International Winter Sports Games will be held at the highest organisational level, and will become a true celebration of sport, creativity and companionship. And it will naturally provide the young participants with a great opportunity to get acquainted with the history and sights of the Kemerovo Region.”
The Second Children of Asia International Winter Sports Games are held in Kuzbass, Kemerovo Region, from February 23 until March 5. Around 1,000 young athletes are taking part in the event, competing in about a dozen sports, such as cross-country skiing, speed skating, ice hockey, snowboarding, alpine skiing, figure skating and others.
