The message reads, in part:
“The sudden passing of Alexander Matsegora is a profound and truly irreplaceable loss for the Russian foreign policy.
Alexander Matsegora was among Russia’s most experienced diplomats. A highly skilled professional with deep expertise, he earned the sincere respect of his colleagues and held high prestige among his international partners.
His personal contribution to the development of relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was immense. As Ambassador to the DPRK, he played a key role in broadening multifaceted cooperation with this important partner and ally of Russia. It was largely through his efforts that matters concerning the participation of the North Korean military contingent in the liberation of the Kursk Region from invaders were successfully addressed.
Alexander Matsegora was a true patriot and devoted citizen of Russia. His blessed memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
