During his visit to the Russia National Centre branch, the President was shown an interactive presentation on the development of the Far Eastern Federal District. Via videoconference, the President launched the operation of new enterprises and infrastructure facilities in the region.
The Pacific Railway, spanning 531 km, and the reconstructed section of the A-370 Ussuri federal highway between Vladivostok and Khabarovsk were inaugurated. The international terminal of Khabarovsk Airport was opened. In the Primorye Territory, the following facilities were unveiled: a multimodal transport and logistics centre, a pilot site of the Russky Innovative Science and Technology Centre, and the International Financial Centre in Vladivostok. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Kamchatka Regional Hospital with 175 beds was opened, while in Ussuriysk, the Museum of the Ussuri Taiga began its operations.

It has become a good tradition for us, on the eve of or during the Eastern Economic Forum, to synchronise our assessments of what has been accomplished over the past period, over the past year. And with each year, the number of facilities essential for the residents of the Far East and for the development of the entire region continues to grow.
These facilities are modern and have strong development prospects, which means that such prospects are opening up for this vast, highly important, strategically vital macro-region – the Far East.
I would like to thank you all for what has been achieved. However, as was noted at the beginning of our meeting, much more remains to be done, considering that the Far East constitutes nearly half – 40 percent – of the entire territory of the Russian Federation. There is ample work ahead.
