The telegram conveying condolences to President of Iraq Jalal Talabani reads, in part:

“Please accept my deepest condolences following the terrorist attacks in Iraq, which killed hundreds of peaceful citizens.

These monstrous crimes elicit anger, indignation and unconditional condemnation. The people responsible must receive the severest punishment. We support the decisive actions by the authorities of Iraq to suppress extremists’ activities. I confirm our rigid stance of strengthening comprehensive cooperation in the interest of maintaining security and stability.

We grieve together with the families and friends of the victims. We send our wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured.”

The telegram to Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki reads, in part:

“I was saddened and indignant when I learned of the explosions in Bagdad and several other Iraqi cities that killed and injured hundreds of people.

We in Russia unequivocally condemn the barbaric terrorist attacks and stand in full solidarity with efforts by the leadership and people of Iraq in their fight against these inhumane crimes. We aim at further strengthening Russian-Iraqi cooperation and bolstering international efforts to fight the threat of terrorism for the good of regional stability and security.

Please convey my deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims, as well as words of sincere sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.”
