During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral relations, in particular, trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the energy sector, implementation of the Partnership for Modernisation initiative, prospects for introducing visa-free travel between Russia and EU, as well as current issues on the international agenda.
Following the summit, Vladimir Putin, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy gave a joint news conference.
