High-level Russian-German intergovernmental consultations took place in Munich.

During their one-on-one talks Dmitry Medvedev and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel discussed the international political agenda in detail, talked about the results of the G8 summit [in L'Aquila], and exchanged views on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. In this context they also discussed the situation around Iran and North Korea.

Following the Russian-German intergovernmental consultations an intergovernmental agreement on scientific and technical cooperation and a joint declaration by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergei Shmatko and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology of Germany Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg were signed.
