The exhibition is devoted to the 300th anniversary of a Russian monarch’s first visit to France, which marked the beginning of stable ties between the two countries.

The exhibition is organised by the State Institution of the Palace, the Museum and the National Heritage of Versailles, and the State Hermitage Museum and includes over 180 exhibits from the Hermitage collection, including paintings, engravings, instruments and tools commissioned or bought by Peter the Great in France, as well as works by artists, sculptors and architects brought to Russia from France during the reign of Peter the Great.
