Vladimir Putin took part via videoconference in the ceremony to launch an agricultural complex in the Primorye Territory and gave orders to start the construction of two enterprises.

The President launched the Rusagro agricultural complex in the Mikhailovsky PDA. The project includes a pig-breeding complex, elevators and a fodder production.

The second project is the construction of the Baimsky Mining and Processing Plant (GOK) in Chukotka, which will explore one of the world’s largest copper deposits.

Another project involves building an LNG handling terminal in Bechevinskaya Bay in the Kamchatka Territory.

Vladimir Putin wished good luck to the company employees who took part in the ceremony.

Priority development areas are a mechanism to attract investment to the Far East that envisages special conditions for business, including tax benefits, simplified administrative procedures and infrastructure built at the state’s expense. In addition, priority development areas are customs-free zones. As of today, there are 18 PDAs in the Far East in such areas as agriculture, fish processing, logistics, ship building, oil and gas chemistry, coal mining and tourism.
