Congratulations on your professional holiday, the National Investigation Officers’ Day.
Thank you for your effective and hard work. What you do matters greatly and is instrumental for our people, society and for Russia in general. By fulfilling your professional duties in good faith, you are making a meaningful contribution to defending the rights and freedoms of our people, while also strengthening the rule of law, including the corresponding institutions and principles, and ensuring the supremacy of law.
Today, the tasks for officers from the Investigative Committee, investigators working for the Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service consist of addressing criminal threats in some of their most dangerous forms, including organised crime and corruption, drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism. This requires maximum dedication, as well as a clear-eyed and impartial attitude when undertaking preliminary criminal investigations.
Effectively and promptly coordinating your everyday work with colleagues from other units and agencies is just as important, considering present-day challenges, including in the digital space, and in your efforts to uncover and expose shady financial dealings and sophisticated fraudulent practices, which are concocted to mislead and bilk people, including the elderly and families of special military operation participants, in a cynical and immoral manner.
Of course, we must be firm and demonstrate our resolve in cutting short any acts of sabotage and provocations in the information space, as well as any attempts to interfere in our domestic affairs from abroad. We must reliably secure Russia’s sovereignty, traditional values, and inter-ethnic peace and accord.
As we mark Investigation Officers’ Day, I would like to emphasise the personal courage of investigation officers working in the special military operation zone.
I am certain that members of Russia’s investigative agencies will deliver on their mission and will keep working hard to fulfil the core interests of Russia and its people.
