The message reads, in part:
“Over the last decades, we have gained considerable experience in bilateral cooperation in various areas. Today, Russia and Syria are allies in opposing international terrorism and extremism.
I am confident that our joint efforts will result in the final conquering of the forces of terror on Syrian land. I would like to confirm that the Russian side will continue providing assistance to the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic in protecting its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, ensuring national security and post-conflict rehabilitation.
We believe that further development of Russia-Syria ties is in line with our common interests and follows the policy of strengthening peace and stability both regionally and at the international level.”
The President of Russia also wished Bashar al-Assad good health and success, and a prompt return to peaceful and prosperous life to all Syrian people.
