Official visit to China
On May 19–20, the President of Russia made an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation.
The People’s Assembly House in Beijing hosted Russia-China talks, following which the presidents signed a Joint Statement on Further Strengthening Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation and Deepening Relations of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation.
The two leaders took part in a ceremony launching the Cross Years of Russia-China Cooperation in Education (2026–2027) and visited a photo exhibition co-hosted by the TASS and Xinhua news agencies.
Vladimir Putin also held a meeting with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang.
